Named for the only gentleman to have served two terms as International President, the George F. Hixson award serves to recognize a Kiwanian for the many years of dedicated service to the community by virtue of participation as a Kiwanian. In order to present this award, the club must make a contribution of $ 1,000 or more to the Kiwanis International Foundation to in turn be applied toward the World-Wide Service project, which currently is the elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorder.

KIWANIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
Each year the membership is given the opportunity to name a fellow Kiwanian who has demonstrated service to the Club in an extraordinary fashion. This individual is one who has, during the past year, made significant contribution to the Club through leadership and participation. The Kiwanian of the Year award is prestigious in itself, in that it is an award of recognition presented to a fellow Kiwanian by his/her peers.
