STAR Student & Teacher Recognition

The Kiwanis Club of Vidalia is proud to recognize outstanding local students and educators through the annual STAR Student and Teacher Recognition Program. Each year, this special program honors students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and gives them the opportunity to recognize a teacher who has made a meaningful impact on their education.

The Kiwanis Club of Vidalia hosts the STAR Student and Teacher recognition dinner each February.

The program honors the STAR student with the highest SAT score, along with that student’s choice of a STAR teacher. Students are recognized from three local high schools and two local private schools, with recognition rotating annually among all five academic centers.

The STAR program celebrates more than academic achievement.

It also recognizes the important role teachers play in encouraging, challenging, and inspiring students throughout their educational journey. By honoring both students and educators, the Kiwanis Club of Vidalia helps shine a light on the dedication, hard work, and relationships that make academic success possible.

Each year’s recognition dinner brings together students, educators, families, and community members to celebrate excellence in education.
